We received a number of comments that this make encounters too predictable and repetitive, so we changed it so that the starting positions are different each encounter.Rather than laziness, this was added due to player feedback.See lytleclan's comment below to see one example on how you could have interpreted player feedback. Also the encounters are still predictable, it does not make a difference which direction the ships are facing at the start. Also the laziness comment was not related to this one dynamic, it was related to a quite a few drawbacks in combat which seem to make this game a micro management nightmare. Such as ship selection, inability to group units and set formations to name a few. However I would apologise for the word laziness, I could and should have used a less antagonistic word and to be honest the word does not describe the drawbacks i've found with this game accurately. If I do end up writing a review it would be positive but with quite a few cons listed. Such as ship selection, inability to group units and set formations to name a few.The design of BSG is to minic a table top game, rather than an RTS, therefore ship selection and the lack of grouping units together wouldn't fit within this design choice. That's why there are hotkeys for nearly all actions, to maintain the design but offer ways to quickly execute actions. About Battlestar Galactica Deadlock Set during the First Cylon War, Deadlock puts you in the boots of one of the only survivors of the Cylon attack on Picon, where the Colonial Fleet High Command was lost.
That's why there are hotkeys for nearly all actions, to maintain the design but offer ways to quickly execute actions. If it was done by design then fair enough, it's just not for me. It also does not entice me to buy any of the additional DLC, however the main game is playable enough, I have limited time to play games and I just do not like my play time wasted.Anyway nice to see that your active on the forums and I wish you all well.
